Former Swedish football captain Zlatan Ibrahimović signed a one year contract with English football club Manchester United F.C. under José Mourinho’s management yesterday. The duo were together at Italian club FC Internazionale Milano‎ in 2008–2009 season before Zlatan left for Pep Guardiola‘s FC Barcelona in exchange of Samuel Eto’o.

Zlatan’s four-year contract with French capital club Paris Saint Germain ended the day before and indicating his move, he tweeted “”. Mourinho said, “Zlatan needs no introduction. The statistics speak for themselves.” Debuting in 1999, Zlatan has won domestic titles in four different nations and six different clubs winning the ‘Swedish Footballer of the Year’ nine consecutive times.

After agreeing to the terms Zlatan said, ” I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League. It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again.”

Zlatan was the Serie A top scorer in 2011–2012 season for A.C. Milan scoring 28 league goals before leaving for PSG. Scoring ten goals in eight UEFA Champions League fixtures in 2013–2014 he scored the fastest hat-trick in the tournament history.

Arsenal F.C. tried to persuade Zlatan when he was 17 years old when manager Arsène Wenger asked him to do a trial with the club. He replied saying “Zlatan doesn’t do auditions.”

Zlatan has made 180 appearances for Paris and scored 156 goals. He became the club’s tops corer and helped the club win two domestic titles in a row, scoring 38 goals in Ligue 1 last season. Zlatan is Swedish record goalscorer scoring 62 goals in 116 appearances of which eleven were scored in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifications being second to Polish captainRobert Lewandowski.

In Inter, Zlatan won three consecutive Scudetti — Serie A titles from 2006 till 2009 after moving from Juventus FC winning two titles with them later stripped off due to Calciopoli scandal.

Zlatan was awarded FIFA Puskas in 2013 for his goal against England when Joe Hart was guarding the net.

At Barcelona, Zlatan won the La Liga, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and two Super Copa de Espana trophies but his morals clashed with Barça manager Guardiola. Zlatan is likely to face Guardiola’s Manchester City F.C. in the city derby.
