On Friday, Neymar Jr signed a five-year contract extension with FC Barcelona, Zlatan Ibrahimović signed a one-year contract with Manchester United F.C. as a free agent and Nolito joined Manchester City F.C. from Celta de Vigo on four-years term.

Neymar joined the Catalans in 2013 from Santos FC. Since then, he has made 141 appearances for Barça scoring 85 goals and won eight trophies. This year, he finished third in the FIFA Ballon d’Or.

Per the contract extension, his buyout clause is €200million for the first season which would raise to €250million after the second season. The formal presentation of the extension is to be presented two weeks later before Neymar leaves for his international duties for the Olympics 2016 in his homeland.

Previously, Barcelona received offers from Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

But after the agreement, Neymar tweeted, “Muito feliz de continuar vivendo esse sonho! VISCA BARÇA y VISCA CATALUNYA((en))“.
